Colorado State University's hurricane forecasting team expects 15 named storms, including eight hurricanes, to form during the season that kicks off next month.

According to CSU's Tropical Meteorology Project, four hurricanes will become major--categorized as a 3, 4 or 5 on the Saffir-Simpson Scale--with a 69% chance of one making landfall in the United States. The norm over the past century is 52%.
