Bermuda-based MONTPELIER RE has appointed CHRISTOPHER L. HARRIS, its president, to replace ANTHONY TAYLOR as chief executive effective July 1. Harris joined Montpelier Re in 2002 as chief actuary, became chief underwriting and risk officer in 2006, and president earlier this year.

DAVID SINNOTT and TIMOTHY AMAN will assume Harris' previous responsibilities in the capacity of chief underwriting officer and chief risk officer, respectively. Sinnott, who was chief reinsurance officer, joined Montpelier's Bermuda office in 2002 and Aman, formerly risk management officer, joined last year.

Taylor has been with the company since inception, and successfully led it through an initial public offering in 2002.
