Gift giving has just gotten easier, thanks to one health plan. Gift givers now can give the gift of good health to family and friends with Highmark Inc.'s HealthCare Visa Gift Card.

The Pittsburgh-based health plan began offering the card in November 2007 not only to reduce the stress of holiday gift giving, but also to be "another way to help consumers finance their health care," said Kim Bellard, vice president of e-marketing and customer relations and management.

The gift card can be used to pay for various medical expenses--everything from doctors' bills to prescriptions. It also can be used on wellness and personal care expenses such as eyeglasses, dental care, counseling services, cosmetic procedures, gym memberships and acupuncture.
