DAVID BLUMER has been appointed head of financial markets and a member of SWISS RE'S executive board, replacing ROGER FERGUSON.

Blumer, who had been chief executive of asset management and a member of the executive board of Credit Suisse, will take up his new position with Swiss Re in May. Blumer had been with Credit Suisse since 1993, having held a number of positions in Zurich, London and New York.
