Shampoo Breakthrough Real Plus For Procter & Gamble The giant US household and personal care products group, The Procter & Gamble Company, produced new records for earnings and sales for its fiscal year ended 30th June 1990, continuing the strong growth trends of the previous two years. Net earnings for the year amounted to $1,602 million, an increase of 33 per cent over the $1,206 million for the previous year. Net sales for the year amounted to $24.1 billion, an increase of 13 per cent over 1989's $21.4 billion. Earnings per share rose by 26 per cent from $3.56 to $4.49. The growth in earnings was greater than the increase in earnings primarily due to the acquisition of Noxell in exchange for common shares of Procter & Gamble stock.
