DuPont retains `key material' for Avon.

DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers has brought out a new grade in its Surlyn resin range. The company says that Surlyn PC2000 has been developed specifically for meeting the requirements of the perfume, cosmetics and decorative parts industry. It claims the material delivers better processing productivity due to a lower viscosity, meaning that moulding times can be shortened by up to 30% and that injection pressure can be reduced by up to 20%. According to DuPont, the new grade retains the key features of the Surlyn range: good resistance to stress cracking, design and part geometry versatility, and `better inherent brightness compared with other Surlyn PC grades'. It also allows thick wall mouldings and matte to high gloss finishes.
