Merck KGaA has announced that it plans to focus on its Pharma and Chemistry business activities with core activities of two business sectors -- Speciality Chemical and Laboratory Products -- restructured and combined under one business called Chemistry. This will be effective from 1 January 2002.
Its pigments, cosmetic pigments and active ingredients for the global cosmetic industry will be combined with production, logistics, order processing and product management and will be co-ordinated on a global level, in order, says the company, to generate substantial synergies.
