Guess returns to fragrance.(US Trends)(inks licensing deal with Parlux Fragrances Inc.)(Brief Article)

Clothing label Guess has chosen Parlux Fragrances as the company to help it make a splash in the fragrance market, more than a decade after it introduced Guess and Guess for Men in association with Revlon.
"Fragrance is a natural complement to the sexy, fresh lifestyle of the Guess customer," said Paul Marciano, co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Guess, adding that he was excited to add fragrance to the company's family of licensees. The contract will initially last until December 2009 and Guess has said significant royalties are not expected until the end of 2005.
The first perfume to come out of the new partnership will hit counters in spring 2005, and the companies will enter meetings next month to begin development. A spokesperson for...
