US-based Owens-Illinois has bought BSN Glasspack SA from Glasspack Participations for approximately 1160m [euro]. The. company has been granted approval by the European Commission to sell off two plants in Spain and Italy, which are currently held separately from other assets and managed under the supervision of an independent trustee.
It expects to see cash flow and earnings benefits in the first year, and to make more than 60m [euro] synergy savings a year.
