Avon's Jung honoured by WREI.(INTERNATIONAL NEWS)(Avon Products Inc.)( Andrea Jung)(Women's Research and Education Institute)(Brief Article)

Avon chairman and chief executive officer Andrea Jung received the American Woman Award from the Women's Research and Education Institute (WREI)last week for her work in advancing opportunities for women.
The event in Washington DC raised $100,000 for WREI, a non-profit organization dedicated to researching issues affecting women in the family, workplace and public arena.
Since Jung became the company's first female ceo in 1999, sales have climbed 45 per cent to $7.7bn in 2004. She has also energized the Avon Foundation into becoming a leading fundraiser for the breast cancer cause by raising and distributing $400m to-date.
