AS PART of a strategy to shore up its core business, packaging player Alcan Inc has divested its Italian Laffon plant as well as Alcan Packaging Sutton Ltd. The latter is based in Nottinghamshire in the UK and had sales of approximately 60m [euro] in 2004. It has been sold to the Impress Group.
The Laffon plant manufactures packaging for pressed powder compacts and has been sold to its general manager, Luca Rossi.
