Antiperspirant and deodorant brands Right Guard, Soft & Dri and Dry Idea are to be acquired by The Dial Corporation--which is owned by the Henkel Group--following their divestment by Procter Gamble (P& G) after its merger with Gillette.

ANTIPERSPIRANT AND deodorant brands Right Guard, Soft & Dri and Dry Idea are to be acquired by The Dial Corporation--which is owned by the Henkel Group--following their divestment by Procter Gamble (P& G) after its merger with Gillette. The purchase price is US$420m and sales from these brands in 2005 amounted to US$275m.
The deal is subject to approval, but is expected to close before 2Q. P&G was required to divest the brands as part of the FTC Consent Decree related to the P&G and Gillette merger.
