P&G sells Sure to Innovative Brands.(deodorant Sure purchased by Innovative Brands LLC )(Brief article)

Procter & Gamble (PSG) has sold its deodorant Sure to Phoenix-based Innovative Brands LLC in order to concentrate building on higher-growth brands. Although the Sure brand has been successful--it's been the top selling unscented deodorant in the US for some time--P&G says the brand is no longer a fit for the company's strategy. That's to say, focusing more on brands that have bigger potential to pile on sales.
Wall Street analysts backed the move, with P&G stock lifting over five cents on the deal. Marketing specialists also endorsed the switch, saying growth is increasingly sought not just from brand recognition but also the ability to attract new audiences--something mature brands can struggle with.
