US-based packaging company Berry Plastics Corporation has bought Captive Plastics Inc, part of the First Atlantic Capital portfolio. Berry has agreed to pay $500m cash for 100% of Captive's outstanding common tock.

Ira Boots, chairman and ceo of Berry, said Captive had strong growth potential and was an excellent fit for the company. "The acquisition is another step in our quest to be total solution provider of plastic packaging with the Captive product line significantly enhancing our abilities to better serve our customers," he continued.
