STATE SENATE APPROVES DWI TAGS: Louisiana's Senate approved a bill (S.B. 47) requiring motorists who are convicted twice of drunk driving to display special orange license tags on their vehicles to warn other drivers, according to published reports. The bill requires any person convicted of a second driving while intoxicated charge have the orange tags affixed to the vehicle most frequently used by the offender for five years.

Failing to obtain the tags would be a misdemeanor punishable by a $500 fine, six months in jail or both. The bill is now in the House.
