500% growth by 2005; Forrester predicts online marketing will hit $10B mark.(Brief Article)

B-to-b online marketing spending will reach $10.1 billion by 2005 and account for 20% of the average corporation's marketing budget, predicts an "eBusiness Network Marketing" report to be issued this week by Forrester Research Inc.
However, many b-to-b marketers aren't yet sophisticated enough to use the Internet, even though they are generally optimistic about it, according to the report.
The $10.1 billion forecast marks a significant increase from the $1.6 billion in b-to-b banner advertisements, sponsorships, directory listings and e-mail campaigns marketers will buy in 2000, Forrester said.
