Company: Microsoft Corp. Agency: McCann-Erickson, San Francisco Market: IT execs Quick chase: Sometimes reality gets in the way of a perfectly good marketing message. Microsoft last month launched its $200 million ``Software for the agile business'' campaign, touting the reliability of its server software. The ads show server rooms, untended by technicians because the servers are so stable. Too bad that around the same time the ads broke, so did Microsoft's own servers. In a statement, Microsoft pointed the finger at a misconfigured router, but that press release wasn't heard as loudly as millions of missed connections. Luckily, the ads are striking and will get in front of all the right people by brute force, if nothing else.
