Many small b-to-b marketers seeking to establish a Web presence are looking past the dot-com offerings to a company often viewed as an old economy throwback.

Thomas Regional Directory Co. publishes phonebook-sized regional directories of distributors and small manufacturers that are delivered to more than 750,000 purchasing agents. In addition to the print version, the directories are also available on CD-ROM and on the Web.

The Internet versions of the directories are interactive, offering b-to-b marketers the opportunity to develop electronic catalogs through Thomas Regional's Order Online product and to participate in a request-for-quotes program via the company's Custom Quotes product.
