When Raritan Bay Medical Center decided to automate its materials management systems, an increasing variety of automated systems related to supply management and storage were becoming available.

After a market review that began in 1998, we selected a system from Omnicell, Palo Alto, Calif. Implementation of the Omnicell system has resulted in substantial cost savings and reduced inventory needs at the Raritan Bay facilities.

Thanks to the new system, last year we realized a $750,000 reduction in the operating budget, with an additional $250,000 saved in returned inventory.
