Trinity Health is latest IDN to adopt online training programs from HealthStream Inc. (Hospital Purchasing).(Brief Article)

Trinity Health, Novi, Mich., selected HealthStream Inc., Nashville, Tenn., to provide Internet-based training programs.

The contract took effect in January and runs for three years. It covers the company's Healthcare Learning Center program for clinical employees in Trinity's 47 hospitals. As of January, four hospitals had already signed up to begin using the program.

Anticipated-cost savings of between 30% and 70% are related to the fact that hospitals will not need to purchase computer hardware and software to conduct training programs, since the HealthStream program is accessible online.
