MedAssets, Alpharetta, Ga., will provide financial software to members through a company it acquired in July: OSI Systems, Atlanta.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

OSI developed a revenue cycle management system that helps hospitals correct billing errors and identify missed revenue by attacking the root problem, the charge master.

On the internet

The OSI software ensures that the charge master is in compliance with Medicare and insurance guidelines and then continues to keep it current and complete by synchronizing it with a proprietary "master" charge master on the internet.
