Robert Kunselman retired April 1 as director of materials management at Southwest Washington Medical Center, Vancouver, Wash., 360 beds. His career in materials management spanned 30 years, all in Vancouver. In 1974, while still in college, he was a part-time inventory control clerk at Vancouver Hospital, which later became part of Southwest.

After graduating with a business degree, he was promoted to buyer, and continued to advance until he was promoted to director in 1999. Quentin Phillips was appointed interim materials management director.
