Diagnostic supplies featured in contracts between Premier and Beckman, Sysmex.(Group Purchasing)(Brief Article)

Premier, Charlotte, N.C., has awarded a pair of contracts for diagnostic supplies and equipment, offering members undisclosed discounts through mid-2007. The vendors are Beckman Coulter, Fullerton, Calif., and Sysmex America, Mundelein, Ill.

The Beckman Coulter deal took effect March 31, and runs for three years. It covers chemistry, immunoassay, hematology and automation systems.

These include the company's new UniCel DxI 800 Access immunoassay system, which can perform up to 400 tests per hour. The DxI 800 test menu features approximately 40 tests in the U.S., including cardiac, cancer, anemia, infectious disease, reproductive and other endocrine tests.
