GTI to build pipeline coatings facility.

The Gas Technology Institute (GTI) plans to construct a major new facility for testing the wide variety of protective coatings applied in the field to buried steel pipelines. The nearly $1 million facility will include a field site for in-ground accelerated short-term and long-term testing of full-size pipeline sections, plus a laboratory for detailed analysis of pipe and coating specimens.
