The Volvo EC160B hydraulic excavator has an operating weight of 36,340 to 42,340 pounds, a bucket capacity of 1.01 to 1.54 cubic yards, maximum digging reach at ground level of 28 feet 11 inches, and a maximum digging depth of 19 feet 10 inches. The Volvo EC160B is powered by the low-emission Volvo 6-cylinder D6D engine with charged air cooler that complies with EPA Tier 2 and EU Step 2 emission standards. The hydraulic system is designed with four power modes that respond to the operator's joystick movements and application requirements. The auxiliary hydraulic controls of hammer-shear switch over and one- or two-pump flow are located in the cab of the Volvo EC160B excavator.
