The year 2006 was busy for American pipeline contractors and especially for members of the Pipe Line Contractors Association (PLCA).

Dave Stotz, outgoing president of the PLCA, predicts pipeline opportunities will continue to increase with impacts felt through the year 2010. However, he cautions that qualified personnel and equipment may be hard to come by with the projected increases in construction demands.

"For the next three years, there is going to be more work than the pipeline industry can handle and we aren't going to have enough skilled labor or equipment to spread around," says Stotz.
