George Alexander "Alex" Lowe II, president of A&L Underground, passed away Jan. 20 at age of 52 after a brief battle with cancer. Lowe. a graduate of Drake University, learned the pipeline business from the ground up while working for the Gas Service Company. He recognized the growing demand for responsible and diversified contractors and founded A&L Underground, headquartered in Lenexa, KS. in 1977.
Lowe is survived by his wife Michelle: parents George and Rosemary; son Alex and wife Andrea; son William and wife Tiffani; daughter Leslie; step-daughters Brittany and Jessica; three bothers and one sister; and numerous other family members. Contributions can be made in his memory to KU Endowment for the benefit of VKU Cancer Center for the research of small cell...
