Optus claims that Huawei's hardware does not support its recent modems to connect to its ADSL2+ broadband network.(AUSTRALIA)

Huawei secured an equipment contract worth $100 million from Optus to supply DSLAMs for its broadband network. Optus disclosed the fact that Huawei's hardware does not support its current Dynalink modems, such as RTA1025W, RTA1320, and RTA1045VW. The recent NetComm modems like NB9 and NB6, which are based on the Broadcom BCM6348 chipset, are also not able to connect to its ADSL2 broadband network. If a user tries to connect using any one of these modems, the user's port gets locked at the exchange, which then has to be manually unlocked by Optus technical staff.
