NSN signs LTE and IMS deals.(JAPAN)

Nokia Siemens Networks has signed an LTE contract with DoCoMo and an IMS deal with Chunghwa Telecom. DoCoMo has selected Nokia Siemens Networks and Panasonic for supplying LTE network equipment. The two equipment vendors would be teaming up for making base-station products. The Japan-based company said that Panasonic has built W-CDMA base stations for its FOMA network for over 10 years.

NSN has been selected for providing IMS equipment to Chunghwa Telecom in a contract that is worth $32.1 million. NSN would also provide landline softswitch and VoIP solutions to the Taiwanese company under its five-year next-generation network plan. NSN has also won a services contract from Finland-based broadband service provider DNA for handling its fixed-line operations.
