NEC wins its first mobile WiMAX system order from Tatung InfoComm.(TAIWAN)

NEC Corporation has won an order from Taiwan-based Tatung InfoComm for supplying mobile WiMAX systems for providing commercial service.
Tatung InfoComm currently provides BWA services to clients. NEC, for which this is the first order for mobile WiMAX systems, will provide around 200 base station as well as peripheral equipment to Tatung InfoComm. In August, WiMAX licenses were awarded to six service providers (Tatung Infocomm included) in Taiwan. Jointly, Tatung and NEC have already conducted WiMAX-based medical service trials in Hualien City.
