Asia Pacific Telecom, April, 2008
Ericsson has inked a deal with Beijing Netcom, a division of China Netcom, for providing its IMS-based command supporting system for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games.
China Netcom happens to be the official fixed-telecom service partner for the Olympic Games. Under the terms of the deal, Ericsson would play the role of a systems integrator for an IMS-based platform for facilitating personal multimedia communication.
Ericsson said that this new deal builds on the contract signed with Beijing Netcom last April for rolling out the first IMS network in the country. Rollout/systems integration is likely to get completed by the end of the month.
