China Telecom Corporation acquires China Unicom's stake in BREW.(CHINA)

Asia Pacific Telecom, September, 2008

China Telecom Corporation has decided to acquire the stake held by China United Telecommunications in Unicom-BREW Telecommunication Technologies. Unicom-BREW is a JV between China Unicom and Qualcomm Incorporated. It is currently busy developing CDMA value-added services. After acquiring China Unicom's CDMA network, China Telecom plans to increase its focus on CDMA value-added business with particular interest on GPS.
