AsiaInfo and Ericsson Forge Strategic Alliance to Expand Mobile Internet Services in China.(Brief Article)

AsiaInfo Holdings Inc., a provider of Internet infrastructure solutions and software products in China, and Ericsson announced on September 6, 2000 the signing of a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in simplifying customer billing for mobile Internet users in China.
As part of the alliance, AsiaInfo will integrate its real-time customer management and billing software, AIOBS, with Ericsson's general packet radio services (GPRS) and wireless application protocol (WAP) gateways. The GPRS system will enable service operators to offer IP-based applications to mobile networks at a faster rate than current voice application networks.
