Siemens Wins Orders to Expand Chinese Phone Networks.(Brief Article)

Siemens AG, Germany's largest electronics and engineering company, said it won orders totaling $250 million to expand mobile phone networks in China.

Siemens won contracts from China Mobile Communications Corp. and China United Telecommunications Corp. to expand their mobile phone networks in China's Anhui province and in the Shanghai region.

Siemens has been expanding in Asia, which accounted for about one eighth of total sales last year, winning orders from phone companies in Thailand and China, to boost profit. The Munich based company said in January it won orders worth 167 million euros (US$151 million) in China for phone networks.
