Shanghai Telecom and IBM Jointly Launch IDC in Shanghai with US$6 Million Investment.(Internet Data Center)(Brief Article)

Shanghai Telecom, one of the largest regional telecom operators under China Telecom, and IBM (China) Co. announced the launch of an Internet data center (IDC) in Shanghai's Pudong District with an investment of RMB 50 million (US$6 million).

The new IDC will provide services including data storage and classification, and e-business solutions such as personalized customer service software.

Cheng Xiyuan, general manager of Shanghai Telecom, said his company aims to develop the new IDC into one of China's largest with IBM's advanced IDC management and operating experiences.
