AsiaInfo Wins Multiple Contracts to Expand and Enhance China Netcom's Data Network.(Brief Article)

AsiaInfo Holdings Inc. announced it has signed two contracts with China Netcom (CNC) to provide software products and network services to expand and enhance its data network infrastructure.
AsiaInfo's convergent billing software, AICBS was selected for China Netcom's wireless data network that allows end users to connect to the Internet without the need for fixed line dial-up. This network will initially service participants at the upcoming APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) in Shanghai. Further roll-out of the project is expected to take place over the next six months when similar systems will be implemented in other major cities such as Beijing and Guangzhou, tremendously increasing capacity.
