[0] Alcatel Wins GSM Network Expansion Contracts in Shanghai and Jilin.(Brief Article)
China Telecom, October, 2001
Alcatel has been awarded two separate GSM network expansion contracts by Shanghai Mobile and Jilin Mobile, two subsidiaries of China Mobile. The value of the two contracts is approximately US$70 million. Under these contracts, SBAMC (Shanghai Bell Alcatel Mobile Communication System Co., Ltd.), one of Alcatel's largest joint ventures in China, will supply, install and commission the Evolium series of products, including base stations, a home location register (HLR), a base station controller and a mobile switching center.
This project, which is Shanghai Mobile's eighth GSM expansion, will further improve its network quality. Earlier this year, Alcatel had also participated in the seventh expansion. Following the completion of this expansion by the end of 2001,...
