China Telecom Awards Another US$10 Million in Expansion Contracts to UTStarcom For Its PASSystems in the Yunnan Province.(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

Continuing expansion across Mainland China, UTStarcom Inc., a provider of wireless, wireline and broadband access equipment, announced another set of follow-on contracts with China Telecom, totaling approximately $10 million, for its PAS city-wide access system in the Yunnan Province. The number of subscribers in the Yunnan Province has increased over 190 percent since January 2001, from approximately 39,000 to just over 115,000.
