Huawei Technologies, an equipment vendor, said it had sales revenue of about US$3.1 billion in 2001, compared with US$2.7 billion last year. The company said it saw growth of 156 percent in international sales, to a total US$328 million.

Huawei won five bidding deals in its two European countries, including wins for its OptiX 10G and Metro 6100 backbone products. In Russia and the rest of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the company said its C&C08 switch, OptiX SDH/DWDM and datacom products, and its dual-band GSM systems, have been successfully deployed. The company said it won deals with Telemar in Brazil and AT&T Latin America in Peru.
