National Semiconductor to build IC manufacturing plant in Suzhou. (Company News).(semiconductor assembly)(Brief Article)(Statistical Data Included)

National Semiconductor Corporation announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Suzhou Industrial Park Administrative Committee to lease 36 acres of land for a semiconductor assembly and test plant in China's Suzhou Industrial Park. As part of its major expansion into China, National Semiconductor expects to invest up to US$200 million for construction, equipment, facilities and personnel during the next 5 years.
Suzhou Industrial Park in eastern China's Jiangsu Province, about 80 km west of Shanghai, is well equipped with new highways and communication infrastructure.
