AsiaInfo signs contract with China Unicom for video conferencing application. (VoIP).(Brief Article)

AsiaInfo Holdings Inc. announced on September 9 that it has signed a contract to provide a new IP network application of video conferencing services to China Unicom, one of the largest telecom carriers in China.
As it looks to further enhance its competitiveness in an intense market, China Unicom is continuing to invest in high value-added software and solutions that enable it to generate new business and improve profitability. Its VoIP network, which is the world's largest, is an early example of such investment. Since then, China Unicom has been benefiting from the tremendous usage of VoIP services in China.
Video conferencing services are expected to be another application to generate increasing revenue for the carrier.
