Guangdong Unicom selects Corning optical fiber for provincial network build. (Fiber Optics).

Corning Incorporated, a world-leading supplier of optical fiber, announced that Guangdong Unicom, a China Unicom regional operator, has selected Corning SMF-28 optical fiber for China Unicom's first regional and provincial network in the Guangdong province.
Corning will supply more than 140,000 kilometers of SMF-28 fiber - almost 70% of the total fiber in the project, which will extend more than 7,000 kilometers throughout the Guangdong province.
The Guangdong network, part of China Unicom's continued nationwide network build, will connect the province's largest cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai.
