UTStarcom signs contracts with China Telecom for approximately 80,000 lines of its IP-based DSLAM product. (Broadband).

UTStarcom Inc. announced that it has signed contracts with China Telecom to deploy approximately 80,000 lines of its IP-based ADSL broadband solution in the Zhejiang province of China.

This marks the first major deployment in China of the Company's AN- 200IB/AN-2000B-800 IP-based DSLAM access network solution that delivers high-speed Internet data, VPN, VOD and other broadband services over a wireline network.

This deployment represents a major expansion by China Telecom of DSLAM system capacity for its ADSL broadband service initiated several years ago.
