China Unicom rolls out value-added services in Guangdong and Shanghai. (Wireless).(launches system from QUALCOMM Inc.)

Qualcomm Incorporated, a pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, congratulates China Unicom on launching commercial BREW-enabled services in the Guangdong and Shanghai provinces. Unicom's subscribers in Guangdong and Shanghai will now be able to download applications and services over the air, virtually anytime, anywhere, using Qualcommn's solution on BREW-enabled handsets, combined with China Unicorn's high-speed data network.

Unicom's newly launched CDMA2000 lX network, which doubles voice capacity and can support data transfer speeds up to 144 kbps, allows wireless subscribers to quickly and easily expand the game, entertainment, communications and business productivity of their handsets.
