Panasonic and UTStarcom establish joint venture company to enhance 3G leadership worldwide.(Wireless)

UTStarcom Inc., a global leader in IP access networking and services, and Panasonic Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. (PMC), a worldwide leader of mobile communications products, announced the creation of a joint venture company to focus on design, development, and manufacturing of third-generation (3G) telecommunications system equipment. The joint company, Universal Communications Technology Hangzhou (UCTH), will first focus on providing comprehensive radio access solutions for a wide range of 3G mobile communications systems in China, the world's largest mobile market, and later expand into other international markets.
