Google complies with China censorship.(Business)(Brief Article)
China Telecom, November, 2004
The Chinese unit of Google, while giving search results, does not show results from the Web sites blocked by the Chinese government. However, Google did not talk about the censorship. But U.S.-based Dynamic Internet Technology, which opposes online censorship, revealed the fact that Google was complying with the Chinese laws on banning the Web sites.
The company conducted tests on PCs which were connected to the Internet in China and found that Google omitted results of the Web sites which were banned by the Chinese authorities. According to sources, Google is complying with the censorship so that the Chinese government gives it permission to expand the business and increase its profits.
