Sunday, Huawei sign a new supply contract.(Wireless)(Brief Article)

Hong Kong-based Sunday has increased the scope of its equipment supply contract with China-based Huawei. The Chinese company will supply site equipment and base stations worth $155 million to Sunday, payable in eight installments over four years. Huawei has a stake of 8.02 percent in Sunday.

Sunday is planning to launch 3G services and, according to the MD of the Sunday group, Bruce Hicks, the contract with the Chinese company will enable it to give new and efficient services to its subscribers and compete effectively with other companies in the 3G market. Presently Hutchison is the only company in Hong Kong that offers 3G services. SmarTone and CSL are also planning to introduce 3G services in the country.
