Siemens signs agreement to provide mobile network apparatus and maintenance services.(Brief article)

Siemens's communications unit said that it would provide second-generation mobile network apparatus and maintenance services to two cell-phone operators in China in the current year.
Charles Wang, head of marketing at Siemens Communications Group in China, said that the deal with China Mobile is valued at US$112.25 million, while that of China United Communications is US$62.36 million.
The equipment is founded on the Global System for Mobile Communications standard, or GSM, he said.
Siemens also gave out separate statements on the various contracts it signed in China, with an inclusion of a technical cooperation contract with the Railway Ministry, which were signed on German Chancellor Angela Merkel's visit to China.
