UTStarcom deploys GEPON technology in India.(FIBER OPTICS)

UTStarcom Inc., a provider of IP-based, end-to-end networking solutions and services, announced a contract with United Telecom Limited to deploy its Gigabit Ethernet passive optical network (GEPON) fiber access solution to serve as the foundation for the new statewide area network (SWAN) in the state of Goa in India. A pioneer in the development and management of e-governance and next-generation network infrastructure solutions, United Telecoms Ltd. is the first company to deploy GEPON technology to deliver e-governance and triple-play services to the citizens of Goa.
