Alcatel-Lucent signs network expansion contracts with China Unicom and China Mobile.(WIRELESS)

China Telecom, June, 2007

Alcatel-Lucent announced network expansion agreements with China Unicom and China Mobile, respectively, worth $120 million and $340 million. The contracts with China Mobile are general network expansion contracts, which will be executed during 2007. Contracts with China Unicom include upgrading China Unicom's network in Macau to a CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev.

A high-speed data network, which will be applied to China Unicom's core CDMA networks. The expansion will complement China Unicom's broader mobile network expansion. Alcatel-Lucent will provide GSM/GPRS/EDGE core and radio network solutions as well as optical network components for China Unicom's GSM services.
